Transport Volunteers
This role involves collecting hedgehogs across the Fylde Coast and delivering them to our rescue in Out Rawcliffe, fosterers, release sites and on occasion to the vets.
Foster Carers
The responsibility of a fosterer is to take in hedgehogs that are not ready to be released and care for them until they achieve release weight. Hedgehogs in foster care will need, weighing, the enclosure cleaning, feeding and watering on a daily basis. A hedgehog can be in a fosterer’s care for a few weeks or several months. It is a very rewarding role.
Release Sites
If you think you have a garden or land which is perfect for a hedgehog, we will come and assess your space to check that it is suitable for hedgehogs to be return to the wild. All we ask is that two hedgehog houses
and a feeding station are provided by you with initial monitoring and supplemental feeding all year round.
Fundraising Volunteers
The role of a fundraiser is to increase the exposure of the rescue and hedgehogs. We need enthusiastic volunteers to come up with lots of fundraising ideas and also help to man stalls at local events and fairs. If you think that person is you, we’d love to hear from you.
Morning Volunteers at the Rescue
The rescue in Out Rawcliffe can have many hedgehogs in at once, we need volunteers to help cleaning enclosures, weighing and providing food and water. If you are able to help one morning a week or more, it would be great to have you on the team..
